The beginnings of my art journey started in semi-detached Birmingham suburbia but was nurtured whilst studying for a Fine Art Degree in beautiful Gloucestershire, leading to a deep love of landscape. I paint now, after a life time of teaching and thousands of miles of travel, trying to produce a sense of place and space, reflecting the marks, textures and colours that both man and nature produce. My work is very much about process, creating semi abstract landscapes, putting down initial colour with oil pastels, oil bars or acrylic paint and then layering with oil paint applied mostly with painting knives. I have exhibited in both solo and group shows throughout the Midlands. East Anglia and Europe and have work in many private collections in this country and Australia.
