Trying to capture light is my aim when painting, whether this is sparkling light onwater or soft light across a face.I paint from life so paint quickly with somewhat abstract loose strokes to enable me to capture brief moments of light and atmosphere.I am continually being inspired by the landscape and coast here in Devon and also by the challenges of portrait and still life painting. As well as locally, I have also exhibited at The Royal West of England in Bristol, withThe Society of Women Artists, The Royal Society of Marine Artists and,recently, in The Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Prize in London.
